From the original post: “It takes a village to raise a brewery and a beer to raise a village.” This newfangled proverb, penned by Calgary’s Village Brewery, distills exactly what this beer purveyor is all about. Inspired by the belief that beer has the power to bring people together, the brewery’s six partners have set out to create a business that goes beyond their product—one that, like the grains that go into their unique brews, nourishes and sustains the community. From supporting local arts initiatives and working to reduce the carbon footprints of local Calgarians to producing a popular podcast that features interesting locals, Village Brewery has been able to carve out a special place in Calgary’s cultural landscape.
