The Indian Canyons were one of the locations in Palm Springs that we most looked forward to shooting and were able to squeeze in on our last day before flying back home! We spent a full hour hiking paths with a very helpful ranger who taught us a bit about the canyon and their ancestors.
If you’ve never made the trip down, Palm Canyon is a whopping fifteen miles long of very rocky and barren terrain with the most random groupings of palms you’ve ever seen. The contrast between the lush fan palms and dry, rocky desert was absolutely breathtaking and unlike anything we had ever seen before. Even though it was, no joke, forty-five degrees outside with the sun beating down on us we are so glad that we were able to make this visit work, truly not one to be missed!
Its hard to believe everything that we were able to do on our short four day stay in Palm Springs, and though we definitely over-exhausted ourselves, we do not regret a thing. Brittany has always wanted LSS to have more of a travel aspect to it and this trip was such a great way to switch things up. We are so thankful to everyone that was able to make this happen, including the wonderful tourism board who sent us to some really amazing places that otherwise may have been overlooked.
If you are planning a trip of your own to Palm Springs, definitely put some time aside to visit these canyons…don’t be dumb like us and not pay attention to closing/opening times.
