A little bit about the wonderful couple:
I’m 27 years old born and raised in Calgary. I moved to Belleville Ontario to go to college where I met jimmy who was born in Germany from a polish family and moved to Canada and was raised in Aurora, Ontario.
We met the first week of college through roommates and instantly connected we became fast friends. After a couple months we realized we liked each other and started hanging out more one on one rather then the group setting you normally always find in college. We bonded over music, movies and sports. We dated for 3 months and i returned to Calgary for break and missed him quite a bit. When I went back to Ontario I stayed with his family for a weekend and we made the official boyfriend and girlfriend status. The first summer after college jimmy came and lived at my parents house for the summer. He did that every summer we were In college. After we graduated he managed to get a job at city TV in Calgary where he has been since this past May. Through the years we’ve gone on many road trips, concerts, camping adventures and travelling.
We got engaged last October when we took a three week vacation to Bali and Thailand he proposed to me the second week of our trip while in Ubud, Bali. I had saved up for this gorgeous private villa that overlooked the rice paddies with an infinity pool.
The whole proposal day was pretty awesome! I had been sick the day before so he found this American pub and we went and played pool and ate French fries and nachos while drinking American beer! Which I was pumped for since I had been so sick from the local cuisine ha 🙁 when we returned to the villa it was covered in flower petals and Lilly’s and there was a bottle of wine chilling! Which was a big deal because the wine is so expensive there and all I wanted to as a glass of wine the whole trip! So I actually thought jimmy was doing a nice romantic gesture! I was so excited about the wine I told him I would grab some tunes and a deck of cards and we could drink the wine! He seemed confused and when I returned with the cards I said oh you haven’t poured the wine yet? And he got down on his knee and proposed! I was pretty shocked ha it was a wonderful night with danced drank wine and swam. We didn’t tell anyone until we got home and surprised my parents and had people over to tell them the news!
