A few words from Lisa, the bride: The girls started the morning with mimosas, getting our hair and makeup done in our home. It was a nice relaxing morning. The boys got ready together while having a beer and hanging out. The boys met us across the park from our house where Ryan and I got to see each other for the first time. One of my favourite moments because it was just us. He looked so handsome in his dress uniform.
The girls and boys got their one limos where we had some drinks, relaxed and took some photos in the River valley. The weather was perfect for the day. Sunny and warm with a early morning sprinkle of rain – just a little good luck for the big day!
The ceremony was our absolute favourite part! It was a little grass nook under some trees with an aisle lined in flowers and all of our loved ones. We were so lucky to have our friend Derrick play the bag pipes as the boys entered and Ryan’s Uncle Paul and cousin Brie Sweet on the piano and trumpet playing our song ‘Come to me’ as the girls walked down the isle. On my Dad’s arm I walked to Ryan where we said our “I do’s” with the help of the Edmonton police Chaplin Lawrence.
The rest was was history. Beautiful photos of Ryan and I in the valley at Blue Meadows by Justine Milton. A love filled reception MC’d by Ryan’s cousin Adam Sweet. Delicious food by my cousins catering company K&K catering. Dancing and celebrating till the early morning.
The wedding is more than we could’ve have ever imagined. Ryan and I are so fortunate to have so many wonder friends and loving family that could spend the day with us.
