A few words from the bride: Adam and I met 5 years ago. On our first date, we talked for hours. It was like we had known each other for years. We bonded over our love of traveling and all things chocolate. Adam traveled a lot for work, mostly in South America, so the beginning of our relationship was long distance. It’s true when they say “absence makes the heart grow fonder.” We skyped and text whenever possible. It really did make our relationship stronger. Traveling is a huge part of our lives. Between the two of us, we have been to over 20 countries. The day started out like any other wedding day and stayed pretty relaxed. My adorable niece was our flower girl and it was important to me that she get ready with us. We had brunch, mimosas, dance parties and lots of laughs. Adam and I decided to have a ‘First Look’. It took the stress out of the day and allowed us to spend more time together. The ceremony was short and sweet. Adam’s Uncle and Aunt are professors of music, so it was the perfect touch to have them preform the music. They took our favourite songs and recreated them to better suit the ceremony. When we sat down to begin planning, we both decided that we wanted our wedding to be a fun and lively celebration… or a party (if you ask Adam). We were so excited to celebrate this new chapter of our lives with our closest friends and family. The wedding was full of little touches that made it so incredibly special. All of the ridiculously yummy things served on the desert table were handmade by loving family members, our bridal robes were handmade by my grandmother and Adam created our very own Photo Booth. The father-daughter dance was one of my favourite highlights. My dad recreated a photo that was taken when I was a little girl. He was Prince Charming and I was Cinderella. The wedding day was crazy hot…. 37 degrees! Everything turned out beautifully, even in the heat. The food was amazing, the speeches were quick, hilarious, loving and absolutely perfect, the drinks were flowing and the dancing never stopped. Our friends and family poured their hearts into our wedding and without them it would not have been the same.
