A few words from Brea about the big day: I woke up to lightning and pouring rain on the morning of our outdoor wedding and I was devastated because it was always my dream to get married outdoors and I did not want to do it in a tent. Eventually the rain stopped and the sun shone brightly and with the help of some of our wonderful family and friends we were able to set up in time for the wedding. We had a very personal ceremony on the island green at the golf course followed by our reception, which took place tucked away in the back of the driving range. It was really important to us that our guests felt comfortable and so we included favors such as sunglasses for the ceremony in the sun and blankets for late night at the reception and we also had several little areas at our reception that we called “conversation areas” which were benches and couches for groups to sit back and chat. One of our favorite moments from our reception was a video that our bridal party made including clips and well wishes from them and all our siblings, and to top it off they surprised us by including a video clip of my Grandmother (who has advanced dementia and was not able to be at the wedding) wishing us Congratulations. We finished the night with a poutine bar, which we highly recommend other couples consider as their late night snack because it was a favorite of our guests. We truly could not imagine a more perfect day and it was all because of our wonderful family, friends and vendors.
