A few words from Brittany: I never want my life to be overloaded with excess and I think that’s something that we’re so easily distracted by in todays world. Living in a place with an abundance of wealth there always seems to be this focus on what we have and whether or not it’s more than our neighbours. It makes me sick to think this is all some peoples lives amount to.
Of course I would be a hypocrite to say I don’t like nice things (case in point, my beautiful new Céline sunnies), but I refuse to let them dictate my happiness.
I know there are books on this topic, how getting rid of excess can lead to a happier and fuller life and without reading any of them, I get it. So while I slowly get rid of things one by one, I look forward to getting a few steps closer to a simpler life.
